Chemex franchisees run peer-to-peer training
Chemex franchisees met for a training day on working in the care sector
Chemex has recently run a training day for franchisees focussed on working with the care home sector.
Taylor Made Franchising
Chemex International, which was purchased by Taylor Made Franchising in July 2022, is a hygiene specialist company, providing a range of products and services to markets including hotels, restaurants, pubs, care homes, ambulance organisations and food manufacturers.
Regional franchise meetings
Since the acquisition, Taylor Made Franchising staff have been holding regional meetings to get to know franchisees. At one such meeting, increased training in certain sectors was requested by franchisees and duly arranged.
Chemex franchisee lead training
The training was led by a Chemex franchisee who has extensive knowledge of working in care settings.
During the presentation, franchisees were taught about the wants and needs of the care home customer, how Chemex can best serve them and how they can add extra value to their proposition.
Six franchisees attended the event with notes sent to those unable to attend. The event was also attended by three members of Chemex head office team, to expand their knowledge to better support the network.
'New knowledge'
Andrew King, franchise owner of Chemex Blackpool and Preston who attended the training session said: “I was really looking forward to the event as I knew I was going to learn a lot. Not long after the training, armed with my new knowledge, I had a meeting with a small care home group, who I hope will become clients in due course.”
'Great customer service'
He continued: “At Chemex, we pride ourselves on providing customers with excellent products, in-depth knowledge, and great customer service. It’s very important to me to keep growing my business and obviously, the more I know, the better I can do my job, so, where possible, I’ll be attending any extra training sessions provided.”
Strength in Chemex network
David Callister, managing director at Chemex said: “It is often said that the strength of a franchise is its network and this was so at the recent care homes training event. My team and I are new to Chemex so we’re spending a lot of time getting to know the franchisees, listening to them, making sure they have everything they need to build successful businesses. When they asked for more training, we were delighted to arrange it and will be doing more in the future.’

He continued: “Since buying Chemex we are focussing on the most important part of the business, the franchisees, implementing changes across the board which we know will benefit the network and in time, the entire business. Change is never easy, but we are seeing encouraging figures and developing strong relationships with franchisees and staff, the foundation for running any ethical, sustainable, professional franchise operation.”
