In the same week that HSBC announced a £500m ring-fenced fund to support UK franchising we are pleased to report steady growth across the Taylor Made Franchising group.

Taylor Made Franchising owns franchise brands Stumpbusters, Wilkins Chimney Sweep, PVC Vendo and Thomas Cleaning Franchise and is in partnership with Iconic Window Cleaning to franchise the business.

On the announcement by HSBC Pip Wilkins, CEO, British Franchise Association said,

‘The £500m SME fund for franchise businesses is a significant investment that will unlock the potential for thousands of people to grow in this diverse industry.’

Funding of up to 70% of start-up costs is available for franchisees joining an established network such as those owned by us at Taylor Made Franchising.

Commercial fleet vehicle cleaning franchise PVC Vendo, has taken on 36 new contracts since the beginning of 2021, resulting in a 10% increase in turnover.

Tree stump grinding franchise Stumpbusters has seen an 8% increase in franchisees with the sale of two territories this year.

Wilkins Chimney Sweep, who recorded their most successful month of income at the end of last year, continued the trend with figures for February 2021, 15% up on the same time in 2020.

Thomas Cleaning Franchise, acquired by us in August 2020, has seen a 5% increase in franchisee turnover so far this year and is reporting an upsurge of consumer confidence as residents receive their vaccinations and children return to school.

Iconic Window Cleaning, who we formed a strategic partnership with in late December 2020, has already delivered its first discovery day under the guidance of new Franchise Manager Alan McLean who joined us in January 2021.

Managing Director of Taylor Made Franchising Darren Taylor said,

‘We are pleased to report steady growth across our network of franchise brands, against the backdrop of a difficult past 12 months for the entire country. The announcement by HSBC this week that they are ring-fencing £500m purely for the UK franchise sector can only be a good thing. We have a variety of franchise opportunities available which the HSBC fund could be used for and we’d be happy to discuss options with anyone who thinks the time is right for them to own and run their own business with the support of an experienced franchisor.’
