Wilkins Chimney Sweep welcomes new franchisee in Egham

We are so delighted to welcome ex black cab driver Brendan Dunne to the Wilkins Chimney Sweeping franchise network.

New chimney sweep in Egham, Windsor, Staines, East & West Molesey and Hampton Court

Brendan will be sweeping chimneys and fixing cages, caps and cowls to homes and businesses across Egham, Windsor, Staines, East & West Molesey and Hampton Court . Brendan (61) is married with two grown up children and lives with his wife Arunee in Englefield Green.

During his 32 years behind the wheel, Brendan had a host of famous faces in the back of his cab including Madonna, Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford, but now he’s given up ‘the knowledge’ for ‘the brushes’ with his new business, Wilkins Chimney Sweep.

Brendan said,

“My years driving the cab were great, and it was fun to meet some Hollywood legends, but I needed a change; I needed to be more active and sit in less traffic jams. One of the best things about the new business is that I’m still meeting and chatting to people every day, but unlike before, with people jumping in and out of the cab, I know I’m going to see my clients again at next year’s sweep, which makes a nice change.”

Fully trained and insured chimney sweep

Brendan, who loves walking with his wife in Virginia Water, is fully trained and insured and can sweep the chimneys of open fires, wood burning stoves, Agas and range cookers. He also fits cages, caps and cowls to chimneys and can help to diagnose chimney problems such as leaks and blockages etc.

When not at work Brendan and Arunee can be found helping out friends and family in their local community, even donating and delivering food during the first lockdown to people in need.

Caring about his community

Brendan says,

“I’m loving my new business; I get a great sense of satisfaction knowing that I am helping keep people safe in their own homes; a blockage in a chimney can result in fatal carbon monoxide poisoning so it is vital chimneys are swept regularly. They also need the certificate of sweeping to validate any claims against insurance if there was a chimney fire.”

He concluded,

“My wife and I spent a lot of time during the lockdown helping out our neighbours and my new sweeping business feels like an extension of that; it’s keeping people safe and that’s something I take very seriously, if I can help, I will.”

Homeowners in Egham, Windsor, Staines, East & West Molesey and Hampton Court can contact Brendan to book a sweep on 0203 475 8902 or sending him a message via his website
